Internship Program

Lefteroff Summer Internship - What will a summer internship do for me?

The Lefteroff Summer Internship at the Fogarty Institute provides students with an immersive hands-on summer experience working amongst med tech start-ups and meeting with a variety of experts in the medical innovation field. As an intern, you will gain exposure to all the aspects required to develop and launch a medical device start-up by working within one of our resident start-up companies on various projects based on your educational goals (business, regulatory, engineering, etc.). You will also have opportunities to shadow physicians, observe clinical procedures, and visit numerous industry leaders and their Silicon Valley companies. Additionally, the Institute will help interns gain insight into educational and developmental goals necessary to plan their careers in the healthcare industry.

About the Fogarty Institute: Founded in 2007, the Fogarty Institute for Innovation is a unique nonprofit educational incubator located in Mountain View, CA on the El Camino Hospital campus. We believe innovation is the lifeblood of medical advancement. It unites clinicians, engineers and business people in the critical mission of developing new therapies to improve patient care. Our leadership team is comprised of accomplished veterans in medical device and pharmaceutical industries who mentor and guide our resident early stage companies and innovators. We help to remove the roadblocks that traditionally surround medical device innovation and transform the process for bringing ideas to fruition.
